Medi-Cal Transportation in San Diego County

Medi-Cal members across San Diego County can be eligible for covered non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) when a ride is medically necessary. DayLight coordinates NEMT rides with approved Medi-Cal brokers and plans, helping members get to medical appointments, dialysis, specialty care, and hospital discharges.

How it works

Under CalAIM, California expanded covered transportation to include both NEMT (for members who need a wheelchair, gurney, or other medical transport level) and NMT (non-medical transport for routine ambulatory rides). Coverage typically runs through your Medi-Cal managed care plan - or, for members who need to use a broker network, through a contracted NEMT broker. The rules can be confusing. DayLight will help you figure out which applies to your plan and coordinate booking with the right network.
